T. Angami, in a release said keeping these problems in view, the council took the initiative of surveying the drainage along the main road, and the main sewer, the only outlet which drains the excesses water to the river. <\/p>\n<p>During spot drainage survey and the main sewer, Duncan Bosti Council revealed that many residents were found to have encroached upon the main sewer by construction latrines, dumping of waste materials etc.<\/p>\n<p>As such, DBC said it served a notice to those residents to dismantle the structures in order to keep the drainage passages clear within two months.&nbsp; However since some did not comply with its order, DBC said it was left with no option but to take necessary action and on April 13, along with the help of women and the youth organizations of Duncan Bosti, demolished \u201cwhatever was necessary\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>In addition, butchers were also warned to use appropriate scales and to charge according to the rate fixed by DMC.<\/p>\n<p>Further, DBC pointed out that many electrical posts in the colony have outlived its usefulness, and opposed \u201cirregular disposal\u201d of garbage by DMC in few places around the colony.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Duncan Bosti Council (DBC) has highlighted that one of the major problems causing stagnation and sewerage water overflow on main road in Duncan Bosti during summer was due to blockage and encroachment of drainage by residents DBC member, T.
