{"id":9529,"date":"2011-05-17T00:03:11","date_gmt":"2011-05-17T00:03:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2011\/05\/17\/women-organisations-denounce-rape-murder\/"},"modified":"2011-05-17T00:03:11","modified_gmt":"2011-05-17T00:03:11","slug":"women-organisations-denounce-rape-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2011\/05\/17\/women-organisations-denounce-rape-murder\/","title":{"rendered":"Women organisations denounce rape, murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div>The recent rape and murder of a teenage girl by unidentified miscreants has sent shock weaves across the state with various women organisations denouncing the brutal act.<\/div>\n<div>The body of a minor Naga girl, around 14 years of age, who had reportedly gone missing from home May 14 evening, was found half submerged by the Chathe riverside near CRPF water pump, adjacent to Hollohon colony, Dimapur May 15 morning.<\/div>\n<div>Asserting that atrocities against women were growing from bad to worse, the Nagaland state women commission (NSWC) Monday said such act was no sign of civilized state.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cThe culprit or culprits have no sense of regard or respect for women. There is no security for women in our own land,\u201d said NSCW chairperson Sano Vamuzo in a statement.<\/div>\n<div>Further, the commission \u201cvehemently\u201d condemned the ugly case and appealed to all right thinking people to do the same.<\/div>\n<div>NSWC also urged administration, police, village authorities and NGOs to put their efforts together \u201cto stamp out these anti-women and anti-societies elements at the earliest without any delay.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>The Naga mothers\u2019 association (NMA), expressing strong condemnation at the gruesome killing and rape of a minor girl, said such gruesome and brutal killing was \u201cbeyond any human can think of.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\u201cSuch barbaric and inhuman act cannot be tolerated and deserves the highest degree of punishment,\u201d said NMA president Abei-u Meru and secretary Lochumbeni Humtsoe, and appealed to the law enforcing agencies to look into the matter with all seriousness and book the culprits involved without delay and award severest punishment. The National Socialist Women\u2019s organisation of Nagalim (NSWON) observed that the act was most \u201coutrageous crime\u201d against humanity in general and against women in particular.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Also, strongly condemning the \u201cwicked and ghastly crime\u201d which is far beyond even beastly behaviour, the NSWON insisted the perpetrator(s) should be immediately arrested, and award befitting punishment so such devilish behaviour or action did not take place again.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cSuch inhuman devilish behaviour is too dangerous a theat and a menace to the human society in any place of the world,\u201d stated a statement form NSWON\u2019s publicity &amp; information wing.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>It also called upon all responsible authority, churches, hohos, organisations, institutions, unions, village councils and the like to rise up against such \u201cdevilish design\u201d and root out such evil from the society at the earliest.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cGod created mankind in his own image so that we may manage and rule his creation in righteousness, love and beauty. We should not allow the devil top spoil the purpose for which God created us,\u201d noted the NSWON statement.<\/div>\n<div>The Naga women hoho (NWH), Dimapur also condemning the act, said such kind of crime committed in Naga society deserved capital punishment, adding authority in-charge should leave no stone unturned to book the culprits.<\/div>\n<div>Further, appealing all right thinking citizens to condemn such \u201cgruesome\u201d act, the hoho president Hukheli T.
