Jamir was quoted as wanting to know “will he (Imkong L.Imchen) tell how many from his bloodline were in the national service during the turbulent times?”.

The notice described S.I. Jamir’s statement that appeared in sections of the local press as “completely shocking, extremely disgusting, knowingly deplorable, highly personal, prima facie libelous and unquestionably unpardonable” made against Imkong L. Imchen.

Further terming S.I. Jamir’s statement as a “malicious public statement” tantamount to complete negation of “sensible human intellect an conscience”, the notice asked S.I.Jamir to specifically clarify the following:

1. With what power and authority did S.I. Jamir dare to raise the question on Imkong L.Imchen; 2. Specify the purpose of the statement; 3. What was meant by “national service” and that S.I. Jamir sought information or was in the court of law and where and when; 7. Whether S.I. Jamir questioned Imkong L. Imchen on his own or was it officially by the NPCC.

NPF demands Sungit’s resignation

Asserting that it was stunned to observe NPCC president still “standing tall on high moral ground” by purportedly ignoring and wishing away the mandate of the people, the NPF Tuesday said…

S.I. Jamir, as president of a responsible party, should be sagacious enough to “swallow the bitter pill of defeat” by honourably resigning from the chair.

A NPF press & media bureau statement said the Congress party, throughout Aonglenden by-election campaign, had been at their best in exhibiting their political morality by delivering sermon after sermon to the people.

“Therefore, it is quite tragic to note the desire of the NPCC president to cling to his chair even after the defeat of his candidate in his own village ‘ungma’ who happens to be his elder brother,” said the NPF bureau.

Pointing out that other leaders in the country, after the recent elections, have resigned immediately taking full responsibilities, the NPF said sadly NPCC president have “miserably failed to grasp the political reality.”

Moreover, the NPF said S.I Jamir has turned a “blind eye” to his own fault which it described was quite understandable “given his past anti NPF utterances.”

“It is only but a sign of immaturity on the part of NPCC president to pass on the buck to others for all the things that went wrong,” said the press & media bureau of the NPF, adding, as a democrat, S.I. Jamir should have resigned and shouldered the full responsibilities for their “below-bar performance.”

Stating that it understood S.I Jamir’s limitation for “contravening the established practice of electoral polity,” the NPF said “ostensibly S.I. Jamir still holds the version of the congress candidate for which the NPF is highly disappointed.”

Meanwhile, the NPF Mokokchung division has also echoed similar sentiment of the parent body saying NPCC president should immediately pave the way for his successor before being shown the door by the high command.

According to NPF Mokokchung division president R.Lepden Longkumer and general secretary Mangyangnungba the Congress party seemed to have initiated a tirade of “irrelevant accusation on the NPF leadership when the ordinary supporters and workers of NPF have humbly settled down to their normal way of life after the recently by-poll victory.

Claiming that it would only speak good of Congress and muse at their recent follies, the NPF unit said: “the NPCC has opened the Pandora’s box and had it been in mythological Greece the lid could have been close with hope inside but contemporary parliamentary convention demands that NPCC president vacate his seat before a second person utters anything.”

Nagaland home minister Imkong L.
