{"id":9533,"date":"2011-05-18T00:43:45","date_gmt":"2011-05-18T00:43:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2011\/05\/18\/congress-mahila-mokokchung-on-26th-aonglenden-a-c-by-election\/"},"modified":"2011-05-18T00:43:45","modified_gmt":"2011-05-18T00:43:45","slug":"congress-mahila-mokokchung-on-26th-aonglenden-a-c-by-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2011\/05\/18\/congress-mahila-mokokchung-on-26th-aonglenden-a-c-by-election\/","title":{"rendered":"Congress Mahila Mokokchung on 26th Aonglenden A\/C by-election"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div>Continuing with the post-poll paper war, the &nbsp;Congress Mahila Mokokchung slammed home minister, PHED minister and NPF leaders for vitiating the atmosphere with their volunteers at different polling stations in the May 7 by election in 26 Aonglenden &nbsp; constituency.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>President Mokokchung District Mahila Congress Committee Tiala and DMCC vice president Sowala alleged that the NPF supporters &nbsp;pulled the hairs of Congress women voters and assaulted the males while they were queuing up for casting votes \u201cin front of everyone\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;Stating that it the pulling of women\u2019s hair was shameful and against Ao Naga tradition, they alleged that the NPF supporters were from different nearby constituencies. &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Further the Mokokchung DMCC questioned the \u201covert participation of the NSCN(I-M)\u201d in the by election adding it was at the behest of the NPF party.They said people were witnesses to the \u201cwhole hearted participation of the NSCN(I-M)\u201d in the by election. &nbsp;They urged every right thinking Naga to seriously ponder \u201cwhether the &nbsp;action of the NSCN (I-M) justifies what they stand for\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>They also said the DMCC stood by the complaints made by NPCC president and CLP leader on \u201catrocities committed by the NPF\u201d during the by election, especially on polling day. &nbsp;The Mokokchung DMCC also expressed pain at the personal attacks by NPF during the entire campaign while maintaining that irrespective of political differences, seniormost leaders such as Dr.S.C.Jamir and Dr Shurhozelie should be respected for their immense political experience and wisdom at all times. &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>In particular, the DMCC said whatever might be, Dr.S.C.Jamir remains \u201cthe pride of the Nagas\u201d not only at the national but international level. They said by mocking Dr Jamir with terms such as \u201cover ripe fruit\u201d and \u201ctiger without teeth\u201d, the NPF leaders only revealed that their party was \u201cimmature\u201d. &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>They said decorum should have been maintained in a spirit of healthy political competition. They reminded the NPF instead of showing that it followed its motto \u201cFide Non Armis\u201d by faith, not arms, their leaders revealed the ugly side wherein female voters were assaulted,Congress workers abducted and threatened beside disrespect too the opposition leaders. &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The DMCC said all political parties owe responsibility to the general public and hoped the NPF would be responsible and a more sensible political party.
