{"id":9563,"date":"2011-05-22T00:07:22","date_gmt":"2011-05-22T00:07:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2011\/05\/22\/nscn-i-m-urges-goi-to-rein-in-ar-against-provocations\/"},"modified":"2011-05-22T00:07:22","modified_gmt":"2011-05-22T00:07:22","slug":"nscn-i-m-urges-goi-to-rein-in-ar-against-provocations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2011\/05\/22\/nscn-i-m-urges-goi-to-rein-in-ar-against-provocations\/","title":{"rendered":"NSCN (I-M) urges GoI to rein  in AR against provocations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div>Ministry of Information and Publicity of the NSCN\/GPRN has said the \u201ccurrent activities\u201d of the government of India particularly, what it termed \u201cthe ever notorious Assam Rifles\u201d in Naga areas needed \u201cserious scrutiny\u201d in the light of the Centre making \u201cvociferous call for an early amicable solution to the vexed Indo-Naga political problem on one side\u201d and unleashing \u201ca reign of terror on the Naga, particularly the NSCN cadres on the other\u201d.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>It cautioned the government of India against mistaking its \u201csincerity and trustworthiness\u201d towards the peace agreement as a weakness. &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The ministry of information and publicity, NSCN\/GPRN said it was only defending Naga homeland and would continue to do so till the \u201clast drop of Naga blood\u201d&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>It also maintained that \u201cat present, Nagalim is an island of peace in the entire Asian continent\u201d while affirming its determination and commitment towards an honorable and peaceful settlement of the political issue.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>It urged the government of India to honor its commitments by restraining the armed forces especially the \u201cAssam Rifles, the avowed enemy of the hill people.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>MIP said on May 19, the 16 Assam Rifles raided the house of K.K Angami dy. kilonser (NSCN\/GPRN) at Chedema village, during his absence stole `5 lakh, some official documents and ammunition and arresting two innocent youths.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>On May 20 the 5 Assam Rifles raided the houses of some NSCN\/GPRN functionaries at Senapati where an amount of `1 lakh, a computer set and a laptop stolen besides arrest of five of cadres. Public especially womenfolk however prevented the AR from taking the cadres to Imphal. Assam Rifles took away two AK series rifles, a carbine, and two 9 mm pistol along with magazines and ammunition from its Maram Thangal Region office, the statement said.<\/div>\n<div>Further, the MIP also accused the Assam Rifles of provocative acts against its cadres causing \u201closs of lives and properties\u201d in violation of the cease fire rules.
