During the visit, the chancellor inspected the classrooms of different departments and ladies common room which was sponsored by University Grants Commission, developmental activities in the Kohima Campus, Meriema. <\/p>\n
Earlier, the Chancellor also interacted with head of departments of the campus in the Pro Vice Chancellor\u2019s Chamber.<\/p>\n
Presentation of bouquet and CD of the campus and informal interaction with the officials were the highlights of the programme. <\/p>\n
The Chancellor also received first hand information of the progress of the University prior to 3rd Convocation to be held for the first time at Lumami on May 15 where President of India, Pranab Mukherjee was expected to address the gathering.<\/p>\n
The first two Convocations were held at Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza, Kohima addressed by the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee (2003) and President of India, A. P. J. Abdul Kalam (2007). <\/p>\n
Later, the Chancellor also planted a tree; Professor B.K. Konwar, vice chancellor, Professor A. Lanunungsang, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Kohima Campus, Meriema, faculty members and officials of the University accompanied the chancellor during the tour.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Chancellor also visited SASRD, Medziphema campus where he inaugurated the newly constructed examination hall. <\/p>\n
The International Hostel was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor. The Pro Vice Chancellor, Dean and staff of SASRD, Medziphema Campus also had an interactive session with the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor. <\/p>\n
