{"id":96445,"date":"2014-08-29T00:07:17","date_gmt":"2014-08-29T00:07:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2014\/08\/29\/pradhan-mantri-jan-dhan-yojana-launched-in-nagaland\/"},"modified":"2014-08-29T00:07:17","modified_gmt":"2014-08-29T00:07:17","slug":"pradhan-mantri-jan-dhan-yojana-launched-in-nagaland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2014\/08\/29\/pradhan-mantri-jan-dhan-yojana-launched-in-nagaland\/","title":{"rendered":"Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana launched in Nagaland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/TAYOEWNYZEJDXIQGVGQN.jpg>Along with the rest of the country, Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) was launched in the state by Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Speaker Chotisuh Sazo at Hotel Japfu here Thursday.<br \/>\nIn his address, NLA speaker Sazo appealed to the bankers, state government officials and the public to enthusiastically involve in the implementation of the PMJDY to make it a grand success in Nagaland and help lay foundation for state\u2019s true economic progress and prosperity.<br \/>\nAsserting the launch of PMJDY was an indication of the fast movement of the central government under the regime of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the speaker said government of Nagaland also needed to work faster if the state had to catch up. <br \/>\nThe speaker underlined various areas that needed to give due attention for successful implementation of the PMJDY scheme. <br \/>\nHe pointed out that telecom connectivity in the rural areas of the state needed to be more active and involved in order to achieve the objectives of PMJDY scheme.<br \/>\nFurther, the speaker said another benefit one could expect from the universal access to banking facilities was inculcating saving habit amongst most of the Nagas who were yet to develop the habit of saving.<br \/>\nSazo remarked that developing saving habit was a must to be developed and a self sufficient society. <br \/>\nSpeaking about the PMJDY, the speaker said PMJDY intends to give universal access to banking facilities for all households across the country targeting towards the 7.5 crore household in India that still remained without banking coverage that constitutes about 41 % of the Indian population that were to be provided though bank or through business correspondent.<br \/>\nSazo said PMJDY was not merely to open saving accounts in a bank for every household but has many attractive features for the poor, such as Rupay Debit card, having inbuilt accident insurance cover of Rs. 1 lakh rupees and will also have overdraft facility upto Rs. 5000 in respect of Aadhar enabled accounts. <br \/>\nFor this, he said it accidentally highlights the need for giving Aadhar number to every citizen in the state and if Nagas want to fully utilize the scheme as well as many other central schemes.<br \/>\nThe speaker urged the chief secretary to look into the matter because the direct benefit transfer under many government schemes could be successfully implemented only if there was universal coverage by bank accounts along with Aadhar number.<br \/>\nSBI Corporate Centre, Mumbai G. C. Pandey GM in his welcome address said the Scheme will be a game changer for the common man as also for the banks and nation, which would enable every household in the country to have access to banking services. <br \/>\nIn Nagaland State alone, more than 150 camps were held Thursday, said GM, adding that banks were also engaged in providing financial literacy at grassroots level.<br \/>\nNLA deputy speaker, ministers, state government officials, SBI officials from Nagaland and Assam, farmers, public leaders, and others attended the launching programme.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">SBI Kiphire introduces PJDY<\/span><br \/>\nAlong with the rest of the country, State Bank of India (SBI) Kiphire branch also introduced Pradhanmantri Jan-Ddan Yojana for customers of Kiphire district at SBI Kiphire Thursday. <br \/>\nLaunching the programme as special guest, deputy commissioner (DC) Kiphire Neposo Theluo congratulates the costumers for opening new account in the bank. He appealed to the customers to save money to avail different kinds of loans from the bank.<br \/>\nDC, however, asked the gathering to spread the message and to be a part of the new scheme.&nbsp; <br \/>\nSBI Kiphire bank manager Bradip Bomick who chaired the programme thanked the DC for gracing the programme. He said that this was a good opportunity for the citizens to open an account for those who cannot open an account owing to different reasons. More than 10 customers opened SBI account under Pradhanmantri Jan-Ddan Yojana.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">PMJDY camp in Mokokchung<\/span><br \/>\nPrime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) camp was organized August 28 at Mongsenbai Ward, Mokokchung. It was attended by bank officials and community members from Mongsenbai ward.<br \/>\nHDFC, Mokokchung branch manager Lovito Zhimomi, gave a presentation of the Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) scheme. <br \/>\nUnder this scheme the bank would offer \u2018Zero balance Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account\u2019 to the individual who does not have any bank account.<br \/>\nChairman, Monsenbai Ward, I.
