The three were arrested by police in Satakha (Zunheboto district) and Kohima in separate operations.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>On Wednesday, taxi drivers of Kohima along with hundreds of protestors laid siege to the South Police station demanding that all accused be handed over to them.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The vastly outnumbered police at the P.S. could not stop the huge crowd from entering the police station premises. However, situation was brought under control only after members of the All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) intervened.<\/div>\n<div>According to various accounts, late Swuduve leaves behind his wife and children. The victim was reportedly a hardworking and honest person and of good reputation.<\/div>\n<div>Earlier during the day, ANTA had proposed to hold a state-wide taxi strike but was later called off.<\/div>\n<div>Meanwhile Sr. SP Kohima Joseph Hesso informed that the three accused were identified as&#8211; NSCN (K) \u2018capt.\u2019 Toishe Aye (28), son of Zhesuho Aye of Zhekiye village, Satakha; NSCN (K) \u20182nd lieut.\u2019 Daniel Yimchunger (31), son of Lato Yimchunger, of Mukanchim village and NSCN (K) sympathizer&#8211; Avito Zhotso (41), son of Nezel Zhotso of Jakhama village.<\/div>\n<div>In a communiqu\u00e9, the Sr.SP disclosed that the two accused&#8211; Toishe and Daniel- voluntarily admitted before the police of having committed the murder with the motive of stealing local taxi to make money.<\/div>\n<div>Hesso said Toishe was arrested by Satakha police on September 4 along with the taxi while Daniel and Avito were arrested by Kohima police between September 3 to 5 in Kohima town.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Based on the confessional statement of the accused, Sr. SP disclosed that Toishe Aye and Daniel Yimchunger hired the taxi from PHQ point Kohima at around 8 p.m. September 2, 2017 on the pretext of proceeding to Wokha.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>After reaching Zhiev\u00fc-zie, Chiechama village, the two accused asked Nakro to stop the taxi. Toishe then took out a pistol and threatened Nakro, police said. However, Nakro fearlessly resisted and during the scuffle, the Toishe dropped the pistol. The other accomplice, Daniel Yimchunger then joined Toishe and hit Nakro on the head with a club made of bamboo root and killing him.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The duo later dumped the body below the marketing shed and proceeded towards Tseminyu.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>While on the way, Daniel called-up Avito Khotso, who was in Kohima at that time, to come to Tseminyu. After Avito\u2019s arrival, all three accused proceeded towards Satakha where Toishe stayed back with local taxi and the other two&#8211; Daniel and Avito returned to Kohima on September 3, police stated.<\/div>\n<div>During the search operation in Kohima, police also seized 83 numbers of blank demand notes of vehicle Tax (2017-2018) and three numbers of detached blank information slips for union traders and contractors (yearly tax of 2017- 2018) both issued by NSCN (K) from the house of Daniel Yimchunger. Further, one Maruti Alto 800 (white colour NL01H\/9287) belonging to the third accused Avito Khotso used for proceeding to Satakha and back to Kohima was also seized.<\/div>\n<div>As per police records, Hesso stated that the accused Toishe was involved two cases&#8211; one in 2008 at Mokokchung for illegal possession of arms and the other at South P.S Kohima for extortion in 2013. The other accused Daniel Yimchunger was also involved in three cases (South P.S) in connection with extortion and illegal possession of firearms in the year 2011, 2012 and 2013 respectively. The third accused Avito Zhotso was also involved three cases (South P.S) related to extortion, theft and robbery in 2011, 2012 and 2015.<\/div>\n<div>Meanwhile, the three arrested person was produced before the chief judicial magistrate Kohima and have been kept under police remand for further investigation.<\/div>\n<div>Kohima Police has assured to conduct a thorough investigation and file charges against the culprits appropriately.<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Situation remained tense in Kohima following the arrest of three persons in connection with the murder of the taxi driver-cum owner, Swuduve Nakro.
