GPRN\/NSCN has said that the \u201cconsumer friendly statements\u201d of its rival NSCN (I-M) in the last 14 years of talks on Naga sovereignty and solution, was one probable reason why \u201cNaga people, irrespective of status or gender, have allowed themselves to be hunted, even inside their own kitchens\u201d. Referring to the May 27 attempted assassination on Imtila Jamir, retired registrar of cooperative societies, the outfit\u2019s MIP citing eyewitnesses, said she escaped certain death through \u201csheer miracle\u201d. Terming the action of the assailants as \u201cutterly demonic and unforgivable\u201d the MIP however, regretted, that the crux of the problem lay in the inability of Nagas in general and organizations in particular, \u201cto point straight finger\u201d at those committing the crime and \u201c the ones ordering the assassinations in Nagaland.\u201d MIP maintained that women in Naga custom were accorded highest respect and assassination of women have never been heard. Stating that \u201cNaga history would testify to this fact\u201d, the MIP added \u201conly killers and anti-Naga agents would dare attempt such a heinous crime.\u201d According to the MIP, the affable personality trait of Nagas which gave advantage to adversaries, has inexplicably \u201ccontrolled the conscience driven Nagas\u201d in adopting \u201ca defeatist mentality against merciless killers taking shelter in Nagaland.\u201d Drawing attention to the statement of the Wats\u00fc Mungdang Kohima, the MIP said the former named the accused as \u201cWorshim Tangkhul\u201d and his accomplice as only \u201cbelonging to a certain underground faction\u201d. MIP said it was unfortunate that the Wats\u00fc only managed to generalize all national workers for the assassination while it clearly knew that it \u201cwas committed by IM\u201d. The GPRN\/NSCN accused the rival NSCN (I-M) of having wiped out the cream of Naga youth-budding entrepreneurs, social activists and potential Naga leaders, in the early 1990s \u201cmainly in the city of Dimapur and Kohima in the name of controlling crime and anti-social activities.\u201d Later, it said assassination attempts on politicians, bureaucrats and businessmen \u201cbecame the order of the day.\u201d GPRN\/NSCN said if Naga people minutely observed the course of the crimes committed over the decades, these indicated \u201csinister plan, a hegemonic agenda being nurtured in the guise of Naga political struggle.\u201d GPRN\/NSCN said it wanted to point out to the Nagas that solution to the \u201cIndo-Naga problem is beyond the reach of IM\u201d citing the demand for \u201calternative political arrangement\u201d for Nagas of Manipur with the UNC \u201crepresenting the IM, is for all to see.\u201d MIP concluded that Naga people \u201cmust have the courage and will to reject illogical propaganda of the day.\u201d<\/p>\n
