GPRN\/NSCN while alleging that NSCN (I-M) recently had apprehended and tortured its members in Lotha region, Thursday said its rival was violating the Covenant of Reconciliation (CoR) in Lotha region. According to a GPRN\/NSCN\u2019s MIP statement its \u201ccivil officer\u201d identified as \u201crazou peyu\u201d Chumthungo Lotha, of Marachui village, Lotha region, was apprehended by NSCN (I-M) on May 21 and brutally tortured for three days. However, the MIP said he \u201cmiraculously\u201d escaped from NSCN (I-M) custody while he was being taken to town command cell. Further, the GPRN\/NSCN MIP claimed that on May 29 at 6:30 p.m., its Lotha region chairman Chumben Kithan, managed to evade arrest and torture at Bhagty town while on \u201cofficial duty.\u201d However, his subordinate \u201crazou peyu\u201d Renben Yanthan, was arrested, tortured and all his belongings including cash and government documents were confiscated, it claimed. Stating that Covenant of Reconciliation, among Naga political groups, was signed as a commitment to Naga brotherhood, the GPRN\/NSCN said the NSCN (I-M) on one hand continued to embrace it and on the other they employ hostility and aggression. \u201cIf IM has any regard for the Covenant of Reconciliation (COR), it must rein in its hoodlums at Lotha Region otherwise GPRN\/NSCN would be compelled to initiate retaliatory action,\u201d the MIP statement. Meanwhile the GPRN\/NSCN appealed to apex Lotha organisations to \u201cimpart Covenant of Reconciliation (COR) values to those stifling the peaceful atmosphere.\u201d <\/p>\n
