Presidential aides have been urging France\u2019s first ever unmarried \u2018first couple\u2019 to wed quickly to avoid protocol problems on state visits to strict religious countries.<\/p>\n<p>Their status may be viewed as \u2018living in sin\u2019 by hardline states like Saudi Arabia or The Vatican, advisors have warned. And the pair have now decided to bow to pressure and tie the knot, France\u2019s Closer magazine reported.<\/p>\n<p>It said today: \u2018Members of Valerie\u2019s family have confided in us to reveal that they are planning a happy event, and in the not too distant future\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018For her to become Mrs Hollande would clarify her status in the eyes of the French people and the world, though the president\u2019s wife technically has no official status in our constitution.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Hollande, 57, and Trierweiler 47, met 15 years ago at a political rally and have been a couple for five years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>French president Francois Hollande and girlfriend Valerie Trierweiler are set to marry \u2018in the near future\u2019, it was revealed.
