Kohima village youth organization (KVYO) Thursday informed it has \u201cbanned\u201d all Nagaland Taxi association (ANTA) from overseeing the affairs of taxi owners, drivers and public who availed services at Kohima.<\/p>\n
KVYO in a press statement issued by its publicity secretary Viravolie Rame, however pointed out that ANTA has not been barred from shouldering responsibility concerning the state but that it(ANTA) would no longer be allowed to hold \u201cdual charge\u201d of Kohima and Nagaland, which has been the practice till date. <\/p>\n
Further, KVYO asserted collections of all kinds at parking lots, counters or anywhere operated by ANTA in the capital has been suspended indefinitely.<\/p>\n
It said a new team of office bearers would be entrusted and given the independent responsibility of running all affairs relating to registered commercial taxis under the banner of ANTA, Kohima unit. <\/p>\n
KVYO therefore, requested various taxi owners (both zonal and local), who are citizens of Kohima district, to contact its office (9774016526\/9856000177) in order to form a new team, to work out modalities.<\/p>\n
KVYO maintained that the action was necessitated due to \u201ccorrupt and disruptive activities\u201d of the ANTA central office bearers. KVYO said their \u201caction and conduct were hampering the fragile and relative calm of the capital town.\u201d<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, KVYO directed all taxi owners and drivers to pay tax only to municipal bodies till ANTA Kohima unit became a full fledged functioning body similar to the system prevailing in other districts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
