{"id":97509,"date":"2013-05-23T23:22:02","date_gmt":"2013-05-23T23:22:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2013\/05\/23\/free-handed-concert-featuring-alobo-naga-and-the-band\/"},"modified":"2013-05-23T23:22:02","modified_gmt":"2013-05-23T23:22:02","slug":"free-handed-concert-featuring-alobo-naga-and-the-band","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2013\/05\/23\/free-handed-concert-featuring-alobo-naga-and-the-band\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Free-Handed\u2019 concert featuring Alobo Naga and the Band"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/NJQGWQYOLAYLMSXBPIHA.jpg>Music enthusiasts in Mokokchung, Kohima and Mon will get an opportunity to witness the performance of highly decorated Naga band &#8211; Alobo Naga and The Band as they will be performing in these districts for a charity event i.e. Free-Handed concert organized by Youth Oasis Centre (YOC).<\/p>\n<p>The band need no introduction as it has gained national and international fame when it won MTV EMA 2012, best Indian act and was also nominated for the world&#8217;s best act at MTV EMA 2012. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018Free Handed\u2019 concert is being organized in aid of speak guru foundation and will kick start at Mokokchung on June 6, followed by Kohima and Mon on June 8 and July 2 respectively.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Briefing media at Hiyo Caf\u00e9, managing director, YOC, Clement Imsong, said the concert was being organized so as to encourage youth to participate, directly or indirectly, in charity movement. <\/p>\n<p>He said by purchasing the concert tickets, priced at Rs. 1000 (donors) and Rs. 200 (general), music fans would not only be &quot;buying entertainment&quot; but would also be a patrons of the needy as the proceeds from the event would be donated to charity.<\/p>\n<p>Imsong also expressed desire to &quot;join hands&quot; and work together with other likeminded individuals and organizations with similar beliefs and missions in the upcoming charity events.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Front man of Alobo Naga and The Band, Alobo said by participating in the concert, the band would like to encourage people to experience the &quot;joy of giving&quot;, and at the same time, reach out to people through their music.<\/p>\n<p>Maintaining that they have received &quot;so much love and support&quot; from the people, Alobo said the band believed that it was time for them to contribute back in a &quot;small way&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>Alobo also vouched that his band would continue to participate in such events around the state when as and when the band was free from projects and tours.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Initiated by Youth Oasis Centre (YOC), the \u2018Free-Handed\u2019 concert would be a yearly event where YOC in association with various other organizations with one goal would involve youth to take part directly and indirectly in charity movement through such events, under the theme &quot;Experience the joy of giving.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Free-Handed\u2019 concert is being organized in collaboration with various groups such as I Love Mokokchung, Zero Gravity, Kohima, Wenkhang Foundation, Mon, Hiyo and Rockstar Entertainment that shares similar goals and visions.<\/p>\n<p>The opening act would be by Ember Band, winner of Rock Reign 2012, for Mokokchung, Cadence band for Kohima, and Toxic Peace for Mon.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from rental charges the entire proceeds from the event would go to Speak Guru Foundation, Kohima, Poor Patient Fund, IMDH, Mokokchung, and Wenkhang Foundation, Mon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Music enthusiasts in Mokokchung, Kohima and Mon will get an opportunity to witness the performance of highly decorated Naga band &#8211; Alobo Naga and The Band as they will be performing in these districts for a charity event i.e. Free-Handed concert organized by Youth Oasis Centre (YOC).
