Pangnyu Phom include minister for forest and border affairs, Y Patton, parliamentary secretary for horticulture, Neiba Kronu, commissioner secretary IPR, M.K. Mero, additional principal chief conservator of forests, M. Lokeswara Rao, joint director of horticulture, Pawan Kumar and DHO, Dr. Moa Imsang Walling.<\/p>\n<p>The first ever \u2018North East India-Myanmar Regional Business Conclave\u2019 is organized by regional government of Sagaing, consulate general India, UMFCCI and ICC with active support from the government of Myanmar, the Indian embassy in Yangoon, the consulate general in Mandalay and leading chambers of commerce in Myanmar.<\/p>\n<p>According to a notification issued by Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) director general, Rajiv Singh, the conclave would give due importance to border trade. <\/p>\n<p>It stated that a multi-crore rupee project was under way to set up modern Land Customs Centre in the Tamu-Moreh sector which was expected to handle increased business when the Asian highway opens up the North East to the \u201cvibrant markets\u201d of South East Asia.<\/p>\n<p>The director general said the conclave would discuss major issues relating to trade and commerce between the two countries and lay proper emphasis on the investment prospects between North East India and the Sagaing region of Myanmar.<\/p>\n<p>The main aim of the conclave was to promote border trade and bilateral trade and seek investment by Indian investors in different sectors. The conclave was expected to be attended by investors, businessmen, traders and government officials from Sagaing and from other parts of India as well.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the highlights of the conclave include, networking between corporate representatives of Myanmar and their Indian counterparts, showcase potential investment areas like agriculture, contract farming, food processing, oil seed extraction, electrical and electronics, teak and timber, mining, hotels, logistics, infrastructure, transport, tourism, manufacturing and textiles etc. and showcase the government facilities to be offered to the foreign investors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Seven delegates representing the state government has left for Myanmar to attend two-day \u2018North East India-Myanmar Regional Business Conclave\u2019 scheduled from May 28-29 at Monywa and Mandalay.
