In a press release, NSSATA president, Aliba Sangtam, and general secretary, Thungchamo Lotha, stated that NSSATA 2010 &amp; 2013 batches consisting of around 2600 teachers, as a display of resentment against the government, would resort to sit-in protest through peaceful means at directorate of school education (DoSE) demanding fulfilment of its four-point charter of demands.<\/div>\n<div>CNTC backs aggrieved teachers<\/div>\n<div>Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has said it \u201cfully supported\u201d the genuine demands of the aggrieved teachers, NSSATA\/RMSA\/Hindi teachers, to release pending salaries for the last six to nine months.<\/div>\n<div>In a press release, CNTC, media cell, stated that the teachers under the various central flagship programmes have been suffering greatly and being denied of their basic salary, which it said was a gross violation of human rights.<\/div>\n<div>Describing teachers as the builders of the nation, CNTC said \u201cwhen our people in this noblest profession are being denied of their basic salary facing untold hardships upto the point of starvation, the CNTC cannot just be a mute spectator of all these injustices and discrimination meted out to the teaching community who are our own children.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>It said the state government cannot keep on forever giving the \u201cusual excuse\u201d of \u201cNo funds from the centre\u201d. CNTC said it was the duty of the father to provide the bread to his family and children from any permissible and lawful source. \u201cMere exhortations, lofty words and felicitating them with yearly awards on Teachers\u2019 Day by our politicians and bureaucrats alone are not sufficient,\u201d CNTC stated.<\/div>\n<div>Maintaining that teachers needed to be truly valued and treated with reverence, CNTC, however, said it was just the contrary at present.<\/div>\n<div>Pointing out that it was impossible for any people to survive when the very source of their survival was deprived, the CNTC has urged the state government to release pending salaries to the aggrieved teacher without delay.<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nagaland Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers\u2019s Association (NSSATA) on Monday announced that it would launch its phase-II agitation from November 1, 2016.
