{"id":99277,"date":"2016-10-21T23:37:40","date_gmt":"2016-10-21T23:37:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2016\/10\/21\/np-observes-police-commemoration-day\/"},"modified":"2016-10-21T23:37:40","modified_gmt":"2016-10-21T23:37:40","slug":"np-observes-police-commemoration-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2016\/10\/21\/np-observes-police-commemoration-day\/","title":{"rendered":"NP observes police commemoration day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/BSCEWBGISAHEDJFUJJZJ.jpg><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Along with the rest of nation, Nagaland Police observed the Police Commemoration Day as uniformed personnel led by Nagaland DGP L L Doungel paid homage to the police martyrs at new police reserve Tennis court Phesama, Kohima on Friday.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div>While addressing the police officers and the jawans, the DGP called upon the uniformed personnel to be prepared to give their best in the service of the people.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>He reminded the police personnel not to compromise with their duty but should be always ready to give their best as since they have joined at their own will.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Give your best service so that state police would shine, he said. &nbsp;DGP also narrated the brief history of police commemoration day, when on this day in 1959, ten policemen made supreme sacrifices while defending the borders with China.<\/div>\n<div>He said Chinese Army personnel opened fire and threw grenades at the police party of 20 personnel led by SI Karam Singh at Hot Springs Ladakh. Ten of them died in the ambushed. &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>On the occasion, the names of the 473 police personnel across the country who made supreme sacrifices were read out including two constables from the state- A Khekato Chishi and R Bermong Yimchunger.<\/div>\n<div>DGP along with police officers also laid wreaths and paid homage to the departed police personnel.<\/div>\n<div>NAPTC: The day was also observed at NAP Training Centre (NAPTC) Chumukedima where police officers from 1st NAP battalion, Nagaland Police Training School (NPTS), Nagaland Police Central Workshop (NPCW) and Dimapur police commissionerate laid wreaths and homage to the police martyrs.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>On the occasion, DIG (training &amp; border), K.MartinPienyu urged the police personnel to re-dedicate their lives in the service of the nation. He also recalled and acknowledged the supreme sacrifices of those police personnel while responding to the call of duty. &nbsp;Earlier, the roll of honour was read out by commandant NAPTC, TeisoviseMetha (NPS).&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>KIPHIRE: For the first time, Kiphire Police along with the rest of the country, observed the Police Commemoration day in honour of the fallen Police Martyrs today, the 21st October, 2016 at the unit Quarter Guard, Kiphire, an official bulletin informed.<\/div>\n<div>SP Kiphire, Ben Longkumer gave a short exhortation where he highlighted on the significance of the day and read out the list of the 473 police martyrs of the country.
