Disaster management & first aid training for Wokha district BS&G was held today at Cistus School Wokha graced by deputy DEO Sentinenla & district chief commissioner, BS&G Wokha.
Sentinenla speaking as the chief guest, said natural or manmade disaster may occur or break out anytime by a fire, earthquake, landslides and flood etc. This may lead to loss of human lives and property, for which “we” should be prepared, equipped and ready for ourselves, she said . She further stressed to the participants that, many areas were prone to earthquake so in order to tackle such disaster moments, one should be aware and geared up to help others.
SDEO & district secretary BS&G Wokha, T. Chonpenthung Odyuo also encouraged the gathering to extend their service for the nation in time of disaster. Mhonyamo Ngullie headmaster Cistus School Wokha presented welcome note, chaired by Orenpomo Ngullie DOC (S) BS&G Wokha.
The training session followed presentation of topics on first aid by MO MMU Wokha district Dr. Liphamo Odyuo, preparedness on earthquake, emergency method for rescue and drill & demo display by the SDRF Wokha unit under dy. controller civil defense and district commandant home guard, Wokha.
Vote of thanks proposed by Lideno Yanthan, guide captain Libemo Memorial School, Wokha. Altogether 200 scouts & guides and students attended the programme. The Wokha district BS&G specially thank the DC & district president BS&G Wokha, Wezope Kenye for donating Rs. 10,000/- towards the conduct of the programme.
