Monthly meeting of Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held Thursday at the ADC (Planning) conference hall which was presided over by deputy commissioner and vice chairman DPDB, Sushil Kumar Patel. According to DIPR report, in the meeting DC Mokokchung informed all the heads of offices in the district to supervise/ monitor schemes, especially centrally sponsored schemes being implemented for the welfare of the people. He said “it is the duty of all heads of offices to monitor such schemes and ensure that benefits are percolated down to the targeted group”. The DC said the report of the same should be submitted to him.
Improvement of Tuli circular road from Nh-2 (222nd km to NH-2 225th Km) via Ao Penzu village was also discussed and the members agreed to forward it to the development commissioner, Nagaland for consideration.
The DC also informed all the members about the importance of Wild Life Protection as it was circulated to all the districts by the state Department of Forest, Environment, Ecology and Wild Life on the need to preserve them. In the meeting, Er. Temsuwati, DIO, NIC said there was a need to inform public not to travel via Assam with huge cash as elections in the neighboring state was not yet over. Any public who are compelled to carry huge cash with them have been informed to carry supporting documents to proof that the same was unavoidable. Temsuwati, who is also the Secretary, Officers Club Mokokchung informed members, who have not yet submitted their annual membership to submit the same at the earliest.
KIPHIRE: Monthly meeting of Kiphire DPDB was held on April 5 at Deputy Commissioner Conference hall Kiphire under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner and vice chairman DPDB Kiphire, A. Chumremo Odyuo.
The chairman welcomed all the members present and newly posted officers Ngurthanttuangi, SDEO, S. Aphak Konyak, Dy. Comdt, VG. After reviewing minutes of the last meeting, the board had a serious deliberation on opening of Private College at Pungro Town which was submitted by chairman Lokum Multipurpose Society, Pungro Village. Taking into account the number of increasing students at Pungro Sub-Division and the board decided to recommend the proposal to the government for approval. Station Superintendent N.S.T gave power point presentation about the departmental activities while Soil & Water conservation department were entrusted to present their activities in next meeting.
