District Task Force meeting on immunization of Peren district was held on April 6 at project director’s chamber, DC Office, Headquarter.
Addressing the gathering Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr. Ngangshimeren gave a brief note on “National Deworming Day” and highlighted about certain lapses that were observed. He requested the department responsbile to coordinate and look forward for better results in the next phase.
DPO, RCH /UIP, Dr. Khrielasanuo briefed on the duties and functioning and importance of district task force meeting. She highlighted about the switch of Trivalent Oral Polio Vaccines (TOPV) to Bivalent Oral Polio Vaccines (BOPV) which was expected to commence from April 25.
She informed that April 22 would be the last day to use the TOPV after which the remaining would be destroyed. She also highlighted about the inactivated poliovirus vaccine which is injectable will be given along with the 3rd dose of pentavalent vaccine and OPV.
Dr. Khrielasanuo gave an overview about the National Deworming Day held in the month of February 2016. She informed that a total of 35,000 Albendazole were distributed out of which 14356 were distributed by the Anganwadi’s (212 centres), 11942 in the Government School children by the teachers(134 Schools) and 8475 in the Private School children (37 Schools) by the teachers.
In the meeting chaired by SDO Civil, Robin the attendees discussed various aspects for implementing the switch of TOPV to BOPV. Officials of various departments from CMO, school education, social welfare, district public relations office, rural development and administration attended the meeting.
