GPRN/NSCN questions NSF bandh call

July 3, 2013 | by admin

In a strong reaction to the NSF counter rejoinder, GPRN/NSCN maintained that it along with the rest of the Nagas would have applauded the Federation  if the bandh called on July 1 was to protest against various other issues such as-against disunity, clashes and killings among Naga national workers; against multiple rampant taxation; against corruption in state government offices; to force the Nagaland state government against taking “abnormal cuts in all contract works” and to stop unrestrained entry of illegal immigrants into Nagaland.

GPRN/NSCN said if the NSF had called for the bandh on the above issues, its popularity ratings with the rest of the Nagas would have skyrocketed.

However, GPRN/NSCN said Nagaland was shut down on July 1 when NSF bandh called to protest against what was termed as an “assassination attempt” after a stray bullet hit the NSF office bearer.

It asserted that if NSF believed the bandh and ultimatums would strengthen “Naga political struggle” then either the pillars of the NSF “have corroded beyond repair or the students manning it simply lack capacity to respond to a given situation”.

Slamming the NSF, GPRN/NSCN said whether or not the NSF was “remote controlled or done with correct conscience”, it acted like “some recently installed North Korean boy dictator”.

GPRN/NSCN said “issuing ultimatums and indulging in negative rhetoric” was not good for students as it was “wrong politics” and alleged that federating units were “being misled”.

It said the first firing incident took place near Lotha Baptist Church at Lower Chandmari, Kohima when one NSCN(K) cadre appeared with a pistol after which a few rounds were exchanged.

It said let alone the NSF official, there were only a Tata Mobile, a taxi van with an old lady inside and a Maruti Alo taxi which sped away.

Later, it said, NSCN(K) boys from Mezhur Higher Secondary School side, chased GPRN/NSCN officials at a traffic jam near Police Point resulting in exchange of fire.

It said the GPRN/NSCN cadre only defended himself and escaped. It asked if the NSF official was at the scene in both incidents, then was it a coincidence or deliberate?

It also asserted that shooting from point blank range meant firing from a “very, very close range with little or no distance to evade bullets” and that unless the gun misfired or the target “turned into a fly or an ant” he or she would be dead or seriously wounded.

GPRN/NSCN said it was untrue that despite whatever NSF or AYO or any organisations wanted Nagas to believe, Kesosul Christopher Ltu was “alive and well.”

Slamming the NSF for whipping up public emotions for “wrong reasons” and for terming the July 25 incident as an “assassination attempt”, GPRN/NSCN reminded the that students are the soul of Naga nationhood and whose future was the objective of “our political struggle”.

It asserted that “boys like Mr Kesosul Christopher Ltu” deserve to “live and be a part of the greater Naga future”.
