S.I. Jamir graces MCD felicitation prog

Advisor, Urban Development, S.I. Jamir graced a felicitation programme organised by Muslim Council Dimapur (MCD) for the union’s working president Ahidur Rehman who was conferred with “Peace Award” along with former Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof Lanunungsang recently by Peace Channel.
A felicitation programme was organized Sunday at Unity Hall, Naga Council building, which was attended by people from all walks of life. 
In his address, S.I. Jamir congratulated Ahidur Rehman for being conferred the peace award by the Peace Channel and also said that he would recommend Rehman for Governor’s award.
He said the role played by Rehman during the March 5 incident in Dimapur was laudable. Jamir said Rehman also played a role of a peacemaker both within and outside the state. 
He also thanked Muslim Council Dimapur for grooming up leaders like Ahidur Rehman.
Vigilance commissioner, K T Sukhalu termed Rehman as an ambassador of Nagaland, who was bold enough to speak the truth. He is an all-religion man and is always ready for service to humanity, added Sukhalu.
Others who spoke on the occasion include Om Prakash Sethi, Lipok Pongen, Fr Dr C P Anto, advocate J a Talukdar, Dr. M Z Ahmed, Atar Tapdar, Naga Women Hoho general secretary, Nebano, Prof K P Avikashit, Cajetan Mahung, Hovuto Zhimomi. They also lauded Rehman for his contribution towards building communal harmony in Nagaland.
Ahidur Rehman, in his addressed thanked the citizens of Dimapur for their continuous support.
