
A one-day workshop ‘Out of The Box’ initiated by Dimapur Music Community was held successfully at Kids Worship Centre, Ana-Ki Building, Dimapur, Saturday.
The workshop was attended by more than 200 participants from various parts of Nagaland and neighbouring Assam.
People working in different sectors of the music industry and even some music fans turned up for the workshop.
Resource persons includes Music Task Force (MTF), Government of Nagaland director-Gugs Chishi, International Agency Network Ltd. managing partner-Yanren Kikon, sound engineer (Audio Garage)-Atsung Jamir, Indihut and Naga Blog founder and strategist-Yanpvuo Kikon and musicians Nise Meruno and Alobo Naga.
The workshop which was a first of its kind saw the gathering of a wide range of people belonging to different ages and area of expertise coming under one roof to listen to the resource persons who had all been phenomenal in their own chosen professions.
Some of the younger participants expressed delight at the presentations made by resource persons and added that it was a great opportunity for them to brush themselves up as they were venturing into music industry.
Topics ranging from how to plan tours, monetization of one’s products, how professional musicians work, a musicians guide to the technical equipments, and Government’s role in building up talents etc. were thoroughly explained by the resource persons.
Earlier the workshop took off with invocation by Kingdom Culture Church pastor Visasier Kevichüsa and later benediction was done by Kids Worship Centre founder and director Robert Longkumer while Yanpo Humtsoe proposed the vote of thanks.
Students of Musician’s Academy, Purana Bazaar and The Institute of Music Education (TIME) helped as volunteers.
