Thirty two students of Agape College Padumpukhuri (ACP) Dimapur were conferred with degree certificates on Thursday, during the college’s 24th convocation programme.
The programme was held under the theme “Walk by faith and not by sight” at the college chapel hall.
Speaking at the programme as guest speaker, NBCC youth secretary, Reverend Vikuo Rhi congratulated the graduating students for marking the day as a celebration of their hard work and the beginning of real life.
He reminded the students to not forget the people who had supported them through prayers and by sacrificing their comforts for their sake.
Rhi encouraged the teachers asserting that the seeds they had sown were bearing fruit and thereby he encouraged them to continue to keep up their good deeds by moulding, shaping and equipping the upcoming young generation. He also asked the parents, sponsors and church to continue not to give up.
Vikuo also encouraged the juniors to follow the good examples laid down by the graduating students. “Work hard if you want to excel in studies, seek God’s will in whatever you do. Build a good and strong relationship with God and teachers because your stay here ends not very long from now” he said.
Meanwhile focussing on the theme, Vikuo pointed out that was a simple means to focus on God and not on worldly things.
He asked the graduate students to continue to walk by faith and urged them to be dedicated, to commit their life and to humble themselves for the cause of a higher calling. “Be the salt and light to the world and not to let the world trample you” he encouraged.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by board chairman, Nungsang Aier, valedictory speech was delivered by M.Div-II student Khelito Awomi.
Later, vote of thanks was delivered by registrar Anato Awomi.
Various awards and prizes in different departments were conferred to the students.
