Rongmei community in Dimapur, along with various public leaders and people from different walks of life attended the birth centenary celebration of Rani Gaidinliu organized by Rongmei Council Nagaland coinciding with 67th Republic Day celebration at Chungaizaeng, Burma camp on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, former vice-president Naga Hoho, G.Gaingam Rongmei recalled the rich tributes and honours paid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Rani Gaidinliu during the inaugural function of her birth centenary celebration in New Delhi last year. He said, Gaidinliu is honored at the highest level not only in the Naga movement but also in the annals of Indian freedom struggle, for which the government of India has considered to include a chapter on her contribution in the educational curriculum. Amongst others, NSCN kilonser, Ringthim and Naga Council Dimapur member, Thaban Rongmei also spoke at the function chaired by RCN president, Chingkhiulung.
