Parliamentary Secretary for geology and mining Dr. Imtiwabang Aier visited the under construction science block building of Senayangba Government Higher Secondary School (SGHSS) at Ungma village, Mokokchung on October 15.
The project is being funded by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and is undertaken by Saramati Construction.
On query by the parliamentary secretary, the Saramati Construction proprietor K. Bendangtoshi apprised him that 75 percent of the work was completed. He said only painting and electrification work was left to be completed.
Dr. Imtiwabang also expressed hope that the newly under construction science block will provide the preeminent science education to the students and allow students to acquire more knowledge and professional skills which would enhance their education.
Meanwhile, K Bendangtoshi also thanked the education department engineering wing, executive engineering Akho and SDO for their efforts toward the project.
The SGHSS Science block project started in August 2014 and is expected to be completed by mid July 2017.
Senayangba Government Higher Secondary School provides both Arts and Science stream and currently more than 400 higher secondary students are enrolled in the institution.
