In view of the official confirmation that construction of Dhobinala-Signal Angami-Thahekhu-Rangapahar (DSATR) road would commence October 20, 2015, the Joint Action Committee youth organisation for DSATR road on Tuesday announced suspension of its proposed phase-I agitation that was scheduled to begin on October 14.
In a press release, JAC president Vihuka H Sohe and secretary Imlisunep Longkumer appreciated government’s positive response to construct the road and assured to extend full cooperation for the smooth execution of the works.
The committee however cautioned that it would proceed with phase-II agitation involving picketing of government offices and total ban on plying of government vehicles including FCI and IOC trucks if the government backtracked on its assurance, by October 20, 2015.
Meanwhile, the organisation has extended deepest gratitude to Nagaland Post, Eastern Mirror and Morung Express for extending support during the media campaign launched for construction of DSATR road.
