While condemning the state government’s inaction on rampant backdoor appointments in several departments, ACAUT said it was compelled to file PIL in the court.
“It is condemnable that in spite of the numerous exposes on corruption, the Government of Nagaland is unwilling to take any remedial measures, including termination of all the illegal appointments and fixing accountability on the responsible officials for the aberration”, ACAUT media cell stated in a press release.
With sufficient evidences, ACAUT said it was “compelled to take the matter to the court where every aspect of illegal and backdoor appointments in all the government departments shall come under scrutiny”.
ACAUT thanked “few brave and socially committed lawyers” who have come forward and volunteered to take up the fight against corruption to the next level by filing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the court, free of cost. It further appealed to all publicly spirited lawyers to join and assist the PIL team.
While seeking public support in the form of prayer, ACAUT also appealed all to remain patient since it involved many technicalities in pursuing the cases in the courts.
Meanwhile, ACAUT apologized to the public for not being able to take up all the cases/complaints that were brought to them due to “limited resources and constraints”.
ACAUT said it had carried out series of backdoor appointments exposé by filing RTIs in various departments, to “expose blatant nepotism and favoritism”.
