Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Mokokchung organized training on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) on September 4 at Kinunger Farmers Field School under the sponsorship of RKVY programme.
Subject Matter Specialist (Genetic and Plant Breeding) Bendangjungla highlighted a brief introduction on pest management strategies in her keynote address.
The master trainer for the training Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection) Dr. Ruopfüselhou Kehie imparted practical demonstration on various ecological approaches for pest management including the release of natural enemies, use of pheromone traps and rodenticides in rice ecosystem to the farmers.
Subject Matter Specialist (Agriculture Extension) Rüyosü Nakro encouraged the farmers to equip themselves with the latest pest management techniques to combat with any epidemic outbreak in the future. At the training, farmers were also distributed pest management equipments, tricho cards and rodenticides. The programme was chaired Agriculture Field Assistant, DAO, Mokokchung, Imkongmayang. Altogether 31 participants attended the training.
