Three-day, training programme on beneficiary empowerment for Dimapur district concluded Friday at district sericulture office, Dimapur.
The training was organized by department of sericulture under Catalytic Development programme 2014-2015 of Mulberry sector with deputy director Asangla Alinger as training observer.
The main aim of the training was to impart knowledge on various techniques and innovations in mulberry culture.
Resource persons were sericulture supervisor Tenga Seb, sericulture operator Petekhrietuo Medom and extension officer & training in-charge Mayangjala Walling.
During training, district sericulture officer Yashimeren said, once the beneficiaries succeed, then the objective of the department to uplift the livelihood of farmers especially in practice of sericulture would be achieved.
The farmers also shared their experiences of practicing sericulture and how it had improved their economic conditions. A total of 75 farmers attended the training.
