Youth dies after assault

A 22-year-old youth, who was allegedly assaulted by unknown person(s) on the night of August 22 last in Dimapur, succumbed to wound at a Guwahati hospital on August 24.
According to reports, the victim identified as one Tiasunep Aier, son of Sutsungkaba of Longjang village, resident of Grace colony, Lengrijan, Dimapur, was found unconscious at Lengrijan Tuesday Bazaar in the wee hours of August 23. A FIR has been registered in connection with the case and police was carrying out investigation, it was learnt.
DAYO: Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO) strongly condemned the incident and appealed to the law enforcing agency and responsible authorities to nab the perpetrators.
In a press release, the organisation vice president Lipok Longkumer and general secretary Chitenlemba said they have resolved that until full justice was delivered they would not tolerate granting bail to those responsible when arrested.
The youth organisation also appealed to all sections of the Naga society to condemn the “barbaric act” and help nab those responsible.
DLST: Dimapur Longjang Senso Telongjem (DLST) president Tongpang Aier and secretary Y Among Jamir, in a press release, condemned the incident and appealed to the responsible authority to take necessary steps to bring those responsible to book and take appropriate action.
LKTD: Longjang Kaketshir Telongjem Dimapur (LKTD) unit vehemently condemned the “ruthless act’ of those perpetrators and appealed to the law enforcing agencies to expedite the investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice at the earliest. 
In a press release, LKTD unit president Imkumer Imchen and general secretary Anungla affirmed that they would pursue the matter till justice was delivered.
Meanwhile, the union conveyed condolences to the members of the bereaved family and prayed Almighty God grant solace at this time of grief.
