XVC bans fishing and hunting

In order to preserve the ecology, Xuivi Village Council (XVC) has passed an order banning all forms of hunting including use of sling or catapult and air-gun, fishing (casting of nets), collection of firewood, flora and fauna within its jurisdiction. In a press release, XVC chairman Toshiho Naga cautioned that a sum of Rs 10,000 would be imposed and action would be taken against the defaulter(s). The council also cautioned that livestock belonging to other villages such cattle, mithun, goat etc. straying within village jurisdiction would be shot dead.
