A two-day training on supply chain and inventory management at State and district level was held on February 6 and 7 at CMO office, Dimapur. The training was conducted by the Strategic Alliance Management Services (SAMS), New Delhi.
The training was held under NVBDCP for District Malaria Officers, VBD consultants and officials at State and District Drug Stores. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Kevichusa Medikhru (SPO), Joint Director, NVBDCP.
SAMS officials stated that reporting is a big issue and assessing supply chain activities in the district was necessary.
Requirement of drugs are worked upon basing on the reports. Proper reporting mechanism should be applied to have a good flow of procurement of drugs in the State. Trainings are the only way to ensure proper functioning and the state level should give correct information rather than false reports.
Since the funding comes from global fund, it is very important that the funds given to the state are being used properly. Apart from supply chain, the mission was to assess the human resources.
Recording and reporting are the most importing activities for procurement and supply chain management. Modular training on standard operating procedures for supply chain and inventory management, group work presentations, quiz competition were some of the agendas taken under the training.
