Results of NLPT public voting campaign

Public voting campaign on Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) conducted by NEAN (North East Artist Network) from October 28 to November 30, 2014, has been a success as people from various sections of the society came forward and took part in the campaign. 

NEAN statement said the campaign was launched with the objective to bring forward the voice of the public. It said the campaign was in no way intended to pressurize policy makers but rather an unbiased initiative to get an idea of the people’s opinion.  

All together 132978 people voted through voting cards and 748 more people voted through SMS. The oldest person recorded to have participated in the campaign is 101 years old. 

Meanwhile, NEAN has acknowledged each and every person for their support and participation without whose participation the campaign would not have been a success. It has further expressed regret the inconveniences caused due to the late announcement of the result.
