The semi final event of the 6th edition of ‘Campus Icon 2012’ organized by Team Metamorphosis, Wokha, was held on September 22 at Lotha Tribal Council hall, Wokha town.
Deputy commissioner Wokha Vyashan R and Lima Sunep Jamir, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Wokha were the chief guest and guest of honor respectively.
The chief guest while exhorting the gathering, appreciated the organizer for providing such platform to youngsters to exhibit and to promote their talents.
While stating that Nagas in general are fond of music, he urged the students specially, participants to excel in their studies through music.
The chief guest also assured to extend help the team in the near future. Lima Sunep Jamir expressed appreciation to the organizing members for their sacrifice for the upliftment of the society.
Five out of eight contestants were selected to participate in the grand finale to be held on November 6.
Tumchobeni Mozhui, Icon no 5 who was adjudged ‘best contender of the day’ walked away with a cash award of Rs. 2000 sponsored by the chief guest.
Judges of the event were Pipososang Jamir and Zanbeni Humtsoe. It may be mentioned that, this year campus icon cash award of Rs, 20000 is solely sponsored by progressive youth welfare society.
