Crackdown on LPG cylinders; 2 detained

Based on the complaints from the public, special branch Dimapur carried out a raid and seized 39 filled LPG cooking gas cylinders from two places in Purana Bazaar area, Tuesday.

According to DSP special branch, Israel Xuivi, selling of LPG cylinders in black market has been continuing in and around Dimapur.

He told Nagaland Post that the cylinders were sold between Rs. 1000 to Rs.1300.
In this connection, special branch also detained two persons on suspicion of using bogus LPG cards and selling cylinders in the black market.

Israel said the police would verify all the cards after which necessary formalities would be initiated against the duo.

He also appealed to the public to inform the police in case of black marketing with regard to illegal selling of LPG cylinders gas.
