Training for veterinarians conducted in Kma

District Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Kohima, organized 10-day training for veterinarians from the districts of Kohima, Phek and Wokha at the DVO’s conference hall, Kohima, under the assistance of States for Control of Animal Diseases (ASCAD).

The topics deliberated included “National Animal Disease Reporting System- an overview, “Legislations and its impact in Veterinary practices” and “National Control Programme on Brucellosis- an overview” which were presented by resource persons Dr. I.P Khala, deputy director (H) and state nodal officer, NADRS, Dr. Zase Chüsi, additional project director, RMSA, and Dr. Vikuolie Mezhatsu, farm manager, sheep farm, Poilwa.

Dr. I.P.Khala, State Nodal Officer, NADRS, in his presentation on National Animal Disease Reporting System (NADRS) which will link each block, district and state headquarters through computer with a central disease reporting and monitoring centre in New Delhi so as to enable veterinary authorities to closely monitor, control and eradicate animal diseases, particularly those of a trans-boundary nature, informed that all DVOs are to ask the VAS in-charge to switch on the modem and computer, to start entering the daily treatment records to the NADRS computer, online once a week.

Earlier at the inaugural programme, which emphasized on giving sustainable economic generation of the people through the role of veterinarians, Dr. Pamgertoshi, DVO, Kohima delivered the keynote address while Dr. S.A Walling, deputy director (KV) chaired the function.
