ATMA Dmu participates in R-Day

On the occasion of the 64th Republic Day, a district level exhibition was conducted to create awareness among farmers and the general public about the latest technologies and techniques developed in agriculture and allied sectors.

The exhibition was conducted by the agri & its allied departments under the banner of ATMA-Dimapur, which drew participation from departments including agriculture, horticulture, sericulture, land resources development, veterinary & animal husbandry, fishery and KVK, ICAR, Jharnapani, and inaugurated by minister for roads and bridges, Kaito Aye.

The agriculture stall housed various items such as vegetables and spices that were locally grown in the district, different varieties of cereals and millets, agro chemicals, power machineries, bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, IPM kits, etc., while information leaflets and Rodenticides were distributed free of cost to the visitors.

Horticulture department put up different fruits and flowers produced in Dimapur district and also exhibited the cultivation techniques of oyster mushroom as well as button mushrooms.

Sericulture department exhibited silk garments and accessories which were also for sale, silk bedspread and pillow cases were also on display along with different silk yarns produced in the district.

Department of land resources displayed and sold items produced by various SHGs to promote such groups while the fishery department sold different species of fishes that were produced from the department fishery ponds at concessional rates.

Veterinary & Animal husbandry department exhibited different breeds of farm animals that could be reared in the state and district in particular and for the first time KVK, ICAR, Jharnapani, also took part in the exhibition where different technologies were exhibited through literature, farm implements and different breeds of rabbit and poultry were also on display and sale.

Technology dissemination through literatures on different Agri. and Allied technologies were also distributed at the exhibition.
