Yawning gap between the rich and poor: Kipili

Minister of power C Kipili Sangtam has admitted that there is a “yawning” gap between the rich and the poor in the Naga society today he however added that no citizen is denied of the basic needs.
In an interaction with five member delegation students of St. Joseph’s College Jakhama led by its general secretary Chumseli Anar, the minister lamented that the hard work and dignity of labour has not been properly indoctrinated in the Naga society. Kipili asserted that the present trend of the Naga society in midst of “economic and vision clash” demands self-reconciliation which he said was a “healing potion”.  Emphasizing on brighter future for the state, Kipili highlighted the importance of inculcating of “simple living and high thinking” and added there was a need for parents to play a role in “forming children of vision”. Lamenting that there was an absence of “nationhood” and sense of “fraternity”, he said that these calls for the attention of every Naga. Kipili then said that Naga society has been engulfed with selfishness, greed, enmity and suspicions adding that such needed to be replaced with value based mutual understanding, adjustment, accommodating differences so as to enable greater and better generation.
