Yimchungru Baptist Boru Amukhungto (YBBA) paid a visit to the family of Saddle ‘C’ village Saturday and distributed relief package of rice towards the affected families.
YBBA executive secretary Rev. Z Thsankiu lamented that 16 families have severely hit after their crops were damaged overnight.
He also opined any issue should be negotiated in a peaceful manner and such kind of ill feeling could have been avoided. Later, YBBA staffs and villagers prayed for good will to prevail.
Saddle ‘C’ village incident: YAAD reacts to Chendang village
Yakor Arih-Ako Dimapur (YAAD) has condemned the August 7 Saddle ‘C’ under Tuensang district.
Clarifying to the sequence of the incident by Tsundang (chendang) village council published in local dailies August 14, the union stated that Tsundang village council was “ruining the picture” of Yakor village without proper investigation.
Instead of “repentance” for the chaos, Yakor Arih-Ako Dimapur (YAAD) said Tsundang village council was confusing the general public on the incident.
In a press release YAAD president Zewungba and general secretary Kumkiuba state that such kind of “provocative word” should be carefully used. It said any issues arising from the incident the Thsundang village council should be ready to bear the consequences.
According to Yakor Arih-Ako Dimapur (YAAD) , the victims who claimed to be Yakor citizens as mention by Tsundang villagers were permanent settlers and citizens of Saddle ‘c’ village.
Protesting against the describing the three victims as “terrorist”, of which two were beaten up badly to the extent of taking life by Tsundang mob, the YAAD said “rightful word and name ‘terrorist’ should go to Tsundang (Chendang villager).”
Yakor Arih-Ako Dimapur (YAAD) said one of the victims was currently seeking medical treatment at referral hospital Dimapur.
Yakor Arih-Ako Dimapur (YAD) asked Tsundang village council as to what they meant by ‘mild action without any physical harm” when two Saddle c villagers were hospitalised.
Also, asking who the Tsundang village council was warning to leave their home, YAAD said Tsundang village council should recollect who the original land owner were. It also asked how could immigrant warn its owner to vacate its place.
Meanwhile, the union has urged to the competent authority Tuensang for speedy investigation as per FIR filed by Yimchungru Tribal Council (YTC) and the representation without further delay.
