Seminar on investor awareness in Pfutsero

Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Phek, in collaboration with the department of economics, Pfutsero Government College, Pfutsero (PGCP), organized one day seminar on “investor awareness” July 17 at the college auditorium. SEBI, Guwahati assistant general manager Jagannath Das and National Stock Exchange (NSE) Kolkatta assistant manager Beswadip Roy were the resource persons.
During the seminar, Das highlighted on the role of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the role of regulators, SEBI’s functions and roles, benefits of investment and different options available for investment in different bonds, shares, securities etc.
He also stated that investors should be aware of various ‘Ponzi schemes’ that have been circulating in the market today.
At the second session, Roy highlighted the difference of saving and investment in stock market, the options and avenue available in the market, the involvement of risk and returns, age tolerance and risk.
Earlier, the programme was compeered by assistant professor department of economics, Teithuvina Nukhu, welcome address was delivered by principal, PGCP Dr. Watijungshi Jamir, folk tunes were presented by Nukhozolu and friend and assistant professor department of economics, PGCP Neiko Ritse delivered vote of thanks.
