
A ten-day annual training camp of 24 Nagaland (Indep) Company NCC under the aegis of NCC Group Hqs, Kohima commenced on July 20 at Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School, Dimapur.
A press release from 24 Nagaland (Indep) Company NCC stated that 400 NCC boy cadets from various institutes located in six districts of Nagaland along with associate NCC officers and permanent instructor staff of the unit are attending the camp.
The camp was formally opened by Group Commander NCC, Kohima, Brig SS Dhankhar on July 21, the release said.
The training aims to impart collective training to NCC cadets with special emphasis on development of leadership qualities.
Camp commandant, annual training camp, Lt. Col. Vivek Shukla said that special efforts have been made to engage domain specialists to train cadets on disaster relief and response, environment awareness, career in armed forces, health and hygiene, drug abuse, HIV & AIDS and vector borne diseases.
