Extending its solidarity and unconditional support to Mokokchung District Truck Owners’ Association (MDTOA)’s move to stop plying of trucks along Mokokchung-Mariani road as a protest against the deplorable road conditions, the Zunheboto Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ZCCI) has urged the Border Road Organisation (BRO) authority to address the issue of deplorable road condition soon. In a press release, ZCCI stated that Zunheboto was on the verge of experiencing famine-like situation owing to blockade, which has restricted the movement of goods vehicles for past eight days.
Further, ZCCI highlighted the plight of Mokokchung-Zunheboto highway via Nagaland University, Lumami, saying the road was in a most pitiable condition. Due to deplorable road condition, the ZCCI stated that several accidents occur frequently claiming human lives and loss of goods.
