A two-day workshop Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) was organized by Nagaland State Training Centre (NSTC), a joint venture of Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Ltd (NStCB) and Manpower Development and Management institute (MDMI), Shillong, at the Bank’s Conference Hall, Dimapur June 5 and 6.
According to a press release, MDMI director Dr.J.B.Dutta inaugurated Nagaland workshop in the presence of top management of NStCB S Atovi Sema, managing director, BK Thadani, special officer, general manager (adm) Imtilemba Lomgkumer, officiating general manager (Cr) Bendang Nungsang, DGM (Cr) Renwang Chewang besides senior officers and one representatives of state cooperative union.
Dr. Dutta lauded the role of NStCB for organizing nurturing and extending credit linkages to a large number of SHGs and JLGs in the state.
The workshop dealt with microfinance, financial inclusion inclusive growth role of SHGs, JLGs farmers club etc and maintenance of their books and records as well as other matters concerning further progress and development on SHGs/ JLGs and cooperatives.
BK Thadani informed that Dr Dutta has dedicated his entire life for the development of cooperative movement in the region. He said setting up of Nagaland state training centre would immensely benefit cooperative institutions and SHGs/ JLGs of the state.
