Kyong Students Union (KSU),WDCC&I and Natural Nagas teams made a joint visit on the ongoing Nagaland Foothill Road construction at its jurisdiction under Wokha district on June 3.
KSU president Amos Odyuo and his team appreciated the State government for the initiative and acknowledged the contribution and donation of the landowners. It also urged them to continue their support and cooperation for the ongoing construction of the road.
KSU warned that it would not compromised on the quality and standard of the road irrespective of whoever does the contract work. The union said it would keep vigil on the construction and maintenance of the road and assured full cooperation in making the dream road a reality.
Wokha District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WDCC&I) President S.Aben Ngullie stated that the road was a boon for the people of Wokha district in general and the business community in particular and hoped that the project was completed without any interference from any quarter.
Natural Nagas chairman Steve Odyuo expressed hope that the opening of roads and development would not lead to mass destruction of forest and its resources.
It appealed to the affected people living in the area to preserve the aesthetic landscape of the area. The resources of the land and forest should be use judiciously and responsibly by the community, he added.
