Kohima Science College Students Union, Jotsoma (KSCSUJ) has said it firmly stood with All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU)’s demand to re-examine and review marking system in Nagaland University (NU) and Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE).
In a press release, KSCSU general secretary P. Manjah pointed out that when their marking or grading system was compared with “mainland universities and colleges we find it sparing.”
As such, the union said the students find it very difficult to get selected in reputed institutions and colleges although they held a Gold Medal in their respective colleges and the lone University because of low percentage in their marks.
Maintaining that sometimes students’ performance maybe poor but not every year, Kohima Science College Students Union asserted students should not be victimized “because of this sparing marking in the evaluation system of NU and NBSE.”
Kohima Science College Students Union has appealed to Nagaland University to declare the degree result as per the University norms and also take necessary arrangement in making the result so blunders in the mark sheets were not repeated.
