Minister for roads & bridges Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu Tuesday asserted Nagaland needed more officers of the elite services like IAS, IPS, IRS, IFS etc. to sustain the state, saying if human resource development worked out well then the state would prosper and would become a vibrant economy.

He said this at the 22nd annual freshers’ meet of Post Graduate Post Graduate Students’ Union, Nagaland University, (NU), Kohima Campus, which was held at the State academy Hall here on the theme ‘engendering brighter tomorrow’.

Pointing out that many Naga IAS and IPS officers were posted outside the state, Azo further said ‘we’ need officers from elite services to make the state a vibrant and prosperous state.

He expressed the hope that with seriousness, dedication and commitment the students would shine and make Naga society proud.

Further, stating that Nagaland has many educated people, he, however, said the need of the hour was quality education.

While asserting students were leaders of “tomorrow” and the stakeholders of the state, the minister appealed to the students to do well in their studies and prayed God would inspire the students to work harder to become successful person.

Azo also advised the students to shun their doors for momentary contentment and to set their focus clear as ‘such’ would have hard impact later in life and would end up in frustration.

Pointing out that education was a must to survive, Azo reminded the students of the purpose of being in the university, adding two years struggle would find them choice of success in their life.

Lotha Hoho Dimapur chairman and vice president NPF (central) T.L Merry graced the occasion as guest of honour.
