ACRYA Golden Jubilee celebrations

The Golden Jubilee celebration of the Angami Christian Revival Youth Association (ACRYA) began at D Khel ground, Seikhazou, Kohima village on Friday. The Jubilee Monolith was unveiled by Rev Visielie Soliezuo, chairman ACRCC at ACRCC Mission Centre.

More than 2000 delegates from Kohima district attended the opening ceremony of the Golden Jubilee that began in the evening. The praise and worship was led by CYE, CRC Kohima village with Rev. Dr. Neikedozo Paphino, president NCRC, as the main speaker.

50 flags, marking the years to the golden jubilee, were unfurled by Rev. Vitsiepielie Nguzhii, former vice president. A jubilee song was dedicated by Rev. Razouvizo Tetso, former vice president, and the Jubilee Souvenir was released by first secretary, Rev. Guotsiilie Sorhie.

The speakers of the celebration also includes Rev. Dr. Neivotso Neikha, mission director, North East India CRC, and Kelhoulelie Zatsu, travelling pastor Naga Hospital Colony CRC.

It may be mentioned ACRYA has five units including Chakhro Christian Revival Youth Fellowship, Southern Angami Youth Union- CRC, Northern Angami Christian Revival Youth Fellowship, Western Angami Christian Revival Youth Fellowship and Kohima Town Christian Revival Youth Fellowship.

According to the souvenir, following the formation of Nagaland Christian Revival Church in 1962, the Church felt the need to nurture and establish young leaders to fellowship in the principles and teachings of Christian beliefs. After various initiatives and discussions, the ACRYA was officially formed in 1969 at the Christian Revival Church, Kohima village.

Earlier, the ACRYA was known under different nomenclatures such as the Angami Christian Youth Fellowship, and Kohima District Christian Revival Youth Fellowship. The ACRYA nomenclature officially came into use only in 2006, it stated.
