A district level steering committee meeting for Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) was held on June 12, at DC’s chambers under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon.
DPO RCH/UIP Dr. Zathung highlighted the importance of observing IDCF and management tactics to control diarrhoea. He also listed the various activities to be carried out during the fortnight.
According to a press release, NHM Wokha media officer Mhonbeni Ezung stated that at the meeting, the steering committee members decided to implement various activities in the district during the intensified diarrhoea control fortnight.
The House also decided that ORS-Zinc corners will be set up at district hospital, CHC’s, PHC’s and sub-centers during the IDCF period.
ORS preparation and Zinc dosage demonstrations will also be given during VHND by ASHA and ANMs.
RBSK team will demonstrate hand washing as well as distribute ORS-Zinc during the IDCF Period in schools.
Children found suffering from diarrhoea will be given ORS and Zinc for 14 days.
Medical Officers of all Health Units were informed to keep watch and monitor diarrhoea cases and promptly treat patients and also to report them immediately.
