Reacting to posts on social media that Jain community celebrated Mahaveer Jayanti on April 6, 2020, the Shree Digamber Jain Samaj Dimapur has clarified that Mahaveer Jayanti was not celebrated at all in Dimapur on that day.
In a clarification, SD Jain Samaj Dimapur president Omprakash Sethi stated that the Jain community had closed down Jain temple from March 24, 2020 itself and all social gathering, religious function had been banned with effect March 24, 2020 till further notice.
