ATMA Peren district as a part of activities went for an inter-state tour to Sikkim and Darjeeling (WB) from June 24-29. The tour was guided by Dy. P. D ATMA, Peren.
The touring party visited SAMETI Sikkim and interacted with the officials. The group then visited eight places in and around Gangtok which were of importance to farming and tourists spots. The group also visited ICAR Gangtok campus.
The farmers and ATMA staff on tour had a nice experience as they visited ICAR farm and interacted with the ICAR officials in Gangtok.
In Darjeeling, the group visited NRC on orchid, tea garden and Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park.
Apart from it, they also visited various places of historical importance – Buddhist Monastery and Museum, Japanese Temple and others such as International Flower Exhibition Centre, Tibetan Refugees Self-Help Campus and Rope way.
ATMA Peren staff and farmers expressed gratitude to SNO, ATMA and director of agriculture, Nagaland as well as DAO, Peren who was also the project director ATMA Peren, for lending support in conducting the tour.
MON: Orientation programme for the newly appointed ATMA functionaries was conducted by ATMA Mon on July 5 at the ADC guest house, Mon.
Roles and responsibilities of BTMs and SMS’ were deliberated upon by Wondangbeni Kikon ,Dy.P.D ATMA Mon.
The new recruits were also apprised about some technological terminologies frequently used such as farmers friend, farm school, kisan goshties, field days, commodity interest groups, farmer interest groups, self help groups etc.
Presentation on the Cafeteria of activities and the past activities of ATMA Mon was delivered by Subenthung Odyuo, Dy. PD ATMA Mon.
Nemchaba, SMS Tobu block shared his personal experiences working as an ATMA official and the challenges and the vast untapped potentialities that ATMA Mon can exploit.
Speech on behalf of the new recruits was delivered by Shikmeth Konyak, SMS Mon block while vote of thanks was presented by Roseline Pusa, SMS Wakching Block.
WOKHA: ATMA Wokha organized a one day orientation and sensitization programme for new ATMA specialist and functionary staff at PD’s office Wokha on July 8.
Dr. Mhonchan Shitiri PD welcomed the new staff and introduced to them GoI guidelines for support to state extension programmes for extension reforms ATMA.
BTT convenors Tseyimo and Zuthunglo in their short speeches encouraged the functionaries to utilize the good platform of ATMA and work as a team.
In the orientation programme Mhalo Tungoe SMS KVK spoke on ATMA-KVK linkages and elaborate on how both can collaborate and work together for the upliftment of the farmers in the district.
Subenthung Yanthan DPD gave a brief knowledge on the roles and responsibilities of BTM & SMS. Tiatula BTM spoke on operationalization of SREP.
A brief idea on farm school concept, operationalization and farmer friend was shared by Abeni BTM. Earlier the program was chaired by Yanglen Jami DPD and vote of thanks by Sorenthung BTM.
